Paris Hilton
Everyone knows Paris Hilton. Whether it’s for her infamous escapades, romantic capers, or dumb blonde routines, she’s in the news almost daily and has the world enthralled. Heiress to one of the world’s most famous fortunes, Paris is the one socialite that everyone hates to love and loves to hate.
Why? The list is endless ~ Paris Hilton was born with a golden spoon in her mouth, has dated some of the world’s richest and most eligible men, makes millions of dollars a year, and stands to inherit even more thanks to the Hilton empire. Model, actress and entrepreneur, the self-professed icon of this generation has now added musician to a growing résumé. Is her music career likely to take off? The surprising answer is a definite “hell yeah.”

Hilton Heiress
The Hilton name is enough to make Paris an instant celebrity. The great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, founder of the Hilton Hotels empire, Paris has lived a life of exclusivity since the day she was born. She studied at the prestigious Dwight School in New York City and has lived at some of the world’s most sought-after addresses, including a suite at the luxury Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in Manhattan and a home in the Hamptons, better known as the ‘playground of the rich’. Today, Paris lives in her parents’ $10 million dollar Hollywood Hills home that she shares with her younger sister Nicky. She’s the eldest of four siblings (younger brothers Barron and Conrad round up the quartet) and is by far the most notorious.

We’ll Always Have Paris
This isn’t just a line immortalised by the Humphrey Bogart hit Casablanca; it defines what many famous and gorgeous men have in common ~ the ex factor. Paris has had a string of relationships, all of which have garnered media attention. She’s been linked to Sum 41’s Deryck Whibley, Australian tennis sensation Mark Philippoussis, actors Edward Furlong and Leonardo DiCaprio, Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, and oil heir Brandon Davis, among others. Paris has also been engaged twice ~ first to former Tommy Hilfiger model Jason Shaw from late 2002 to early 2003, and her 2005 engagement to a Greek shipping heir ~ amusingly named Paris Latsis. Her engagement to ‘Boy Paris’, as he was popularly known, lasted only five months before Girl Paris broke it off saying she was too young to get married.

When it comes to her love life, Paris is most famous for her 2003 relationship with Rick Salomon that spawned the infamous sex tape 1 Night In Paris. Salomon (earlier best-known for being a drug dealer, pornographer, and the ex-husband of actress Shannen Doherty) released the tape on the internet and it immediately became immensely popular. The tape was downloaded and widely distributed, and Paris sued Salomon for releasing the tape. She won $400,000 in a settlement, which she donated to charity.

Paris’s most recent on-again-off-again relationship has been with Greek shipping heir Stavros Niarchos III soon after his break-up from actress Mary-Kate Olsen. Even this relationship has not been without controversy. Paris was introduced to Niarchos by event producer Brian Quintana, but after it was rumoured that Quintana later told Niarchos to reconsider dating Paris, the drama began to escalate. Quintana won a restraining order that directs Paris to stay at least 100 feet away from him ~ unless they’re at the same party, in which case it needs to be only 25 feet. Quintana claims that Paris harassed and threatened him, while Paris says she is more than happy to stay away from him because she wants “nothing to do with him.”

Paris ~ The Album
She’s been talking about this album for so long, we were beginning to wonder if this was just another rumour to keep the tabloids interested. We’ve heard the first single for ourselves and can guarantee that there is an album out there. Released on her own label Heiress Records, the simply titled Paris is Miss Hilton’s debut album that features tinges of pop and hip-hop and makes no claims of being the next big Grammy winner. In true Paris Hilton style, it’s all about fun. The video for the first single Stars Are Blind was shot on a beach in Malibu, California and is a departure from we might expect from Paris. Despite her party girl, dumb blonde image, the video features Paris modestly clad (as modest as she can be in a bikini), frolicking on the beach to the tune of the mellow, reggae-inspired song.

The album sees Paris collaborate with many big names in the industry. Her producers Scott Starch, Dr. Luke and JR Totem have worked with the likes of Beyonce, Pink and Rihanna, while the songwriters have penned hits for acts such as Gwen Stefani, Madonna, Christina Aguilera, Black Eyed Peas and Justin Timberlake, among others.

And while the album has not been released yet, one song is already raising eyebrows ~ the very personal Jealousy. “I thought you were my best friend/I felt we'd be together 'til the end/You're not the girl I once knew/Tell me where she is 'cause she's not you…” Could this just be about Nicole? We think so. But in a recent television interview, Paris demurely denied this claim, saying that the song wasn’t about anybody in particular. We’re not inclined to believe her, because (as we learned in the guide for heiresses) every heiress needs a few secrets.
