Agony Aunty: Love, Life & Lola
There is this girl who I like and I want to ask her out on a date but I don’t know how. Last time I tried to talk to her about it, I blushed and stammered so much I made an excuse and left. She now thinks I like someone else and wanted advice on my love life. What to do?
- Rahul, 17, Bangalore

Dear Blushing Stammerer,
You want to ask this girl on which date? Consult a numerologist or Sunita Menon…they will best advise you on the date that is most auspicious! By the way, did u apply blush or did it happen naturally? This metrosexuality craze is corrupting today’s youth! Pink is not a good colour on men. She thinks you are asking her for advice…and I think you are asking me for advice. Do not dilly-dally. The truth shall set you free.

My elder sister is getting married next month and I am very excited, but I dread meeting all the people that will be present. My problem is (and this has already started happening) everyone I meet smiles and says, “Now you are next!” and this is very irritating. How do I tell them politely ~ or pointedly ~ to mind their own business because I am only 18 years old and not getting married for a few years at least?
- Priyanka, 18, Mumbai

Dear Next-in-Line,
Just say you are waiting for Abhishek Bachchan. And since Aishwarya will be his bride without prejudice, he will be unwilling to marry you. Relax miss I-am-just-legal. Poor Lola has been next in line, for sometime now….and she is still in queue!

My brother’s girlfriend is driving me mental. I am only two years younger than them but she insists on calling me a baby and treating me like I am immature ~ I’m 21! My brother just laughs and doesn’t say anything. It was particularly embarrassing last week when my girlfriend of just three months was home as well. But what is most scary is this ~ they are serious and will possibly marry! I can’t stand her. Help!
- Harpreet, 21, Chandigarh

Dear Mental Man,
Is the house you are staying in big enough for your mature to-be sister-in-law and yourself? Such animosity at this tender age is most uncalled for and unrequired. There seems to be too much pent up rage in you. Get a punching bag or start zen yoga…it might calm your fragile nerves. By the way, at 21 you have a girlfriend means what…you do intimate things and all? My goodness! What has the world come to?
